Free admission and a courtside seat. Life is good. Rejection can be painful. I see this picture and think of Dr. J. She may not even know who he is. TIME OUT! Let`s get rowdy!

And so it begins: trying to take daily photos in the cold. Revitalization of downtown Dayton still has a way to go. Some people like autumn. What`s wrong with them? We should try to be a country everyone can look up to. Canon announced a new lens today. It`s $3000. Christmas is coming.

Squirrels love Halloween. Friday night on Fifth Street. A man of few words. I`m going to hold onto summer for as long as I can. In Dayton, a motorcycle gang consists of kids on dirt bikes and scooters popping wheelies.

November 4, 2023
Free admission and a courtside seat again (see November 1 above). A service specialist (see September 8, 2023). Yes, that hurts. At first, things looked bad for the home team, but they came back and won. Intensity.

Don`t you hate it when people drive too close? This bee and I are both in denial about the seasons. After a big fish jumped in the pond, this happened. This has not been a good year for butterflies. Knucklehead pumpkins are bred especially for the warts.

November 6, 2023
Another chikin`-luvin` squirrel (see October 30, 2023). The weather was good, so I eagerly walked to work . . . . . . not realizing it would be pitch dark walking home. PLD at the DML (see October 18 and 19, 2023). The cat is surviving, as cats do (see October 29, 2023).

November 7, 2023
Give me the flute, and sing. Immortality lies in a song. KAHLIL GIBRAN I had to kinda stand on top of somebody to get this shot. That ain`t no mallard. Could it be a Swedish Blue duck? One leaf is picturesque . . . . . . a million leaves are oppressive.

November 8, 2023
Supposedly Houdini hung from the corner of this building and escaped from a straight jacket, but I don`t believe it. A meditative place in downtown Dayton. Adam in autumn. I love watching the buildings turn red in the fall. As I stood on the sidewalk photographing these workers, a drone flew above them probably shooting video.

November 9, 2023
The Leaf Warrior. I don`t have Covid, but I think my computer has a virus. It rained last night and today is all wet. I`m way too busy to be part of coffee shop culture. It`s beginning to look a lot like Veterans Day.

November 10, 2023
I often wake up at night and scribble notes to myself in the dark. In the morning, I follow my own instructions. A listener brings us cake to celebrate the radio station`s birthday (see November 10, 2022). Then a delivery driver dropped off lots of pizzas and the birthday celebration was complete. Another cake appeared and we lit it up. Happy 38th birthday WDPR!

Once a year, I pay money to take pictures of the best volleyball players in the state. With admission and parking, each of these photos cost me $4.30. Fans of the other team wore black. Orange is better. A tall lefthander is very valuable in volleyball. Somebody wins. Somebody loses.

November 12, 2023
I encountered lots of noisy killdeers at the pond. This was a frantic -- not a friendly -- encounter. The secret to eternal life. Just bee and my shadow. I consistently see mockingbirds at Wegerzyn Garden (see October 22, 2023, and January 16, 2021).

November 13, 2023
Today I went outside and tried to pretend I like fall. As I`ve said before, never point your camera at the sun. I hoped to see rowers, but this was as close as I got. The second-tallest building is available for sale for $10. The City of Dayton owns it, but is eager to unload it. Crawling around with my camera, I scared a rollerskater.

November 14, 2023
Sometimes, the best pictures are away from the ball. The team`s leading scorer is also a good defender. They were so close I could feel the swish of pom-poms. After this, the cheerleaders yelled `Block party!` The blue team came a long way to get beat by a lot.

November 15, 2023
A day of sun is also a day of shadows. Somebody named Abram Jones might pay me for this. Walking through the Oregon District this evening, I came across three different photo shoots. The dinosaur looks hungrily at the new playground equipment (October 26, 2023). I prefer solutions instead of workarounds.

November 16, 2023
Impressions of autumn. I needed a tripod for this shot, but it was in my closet. In case you forgot the seed pod from November 12. Remember that day in November 2023 when it was hot? Some photographs show. Others only suggest.

November 17, 2023
It`s the closing reception for the PLD poster show. There was a very large crowd (perhaps drawn by the free pizza). I think I`ve seen him before (see October 10, 2022). The hoop dancer had a percussion section. November is Native American Heritage Month.

November 18, 2023
Missing something? Wildlife in the city. I run when I`m trying not to get run over in a crosswalk. I wouldn`t want to be dripping wet my entire life. Skating season starts on Friday.

November 19, 2023
Picasso`s children play hopscotch. Do you know a good cobbler (see April 4, 2023)? Don`t worry, the ONE WAY sign doesn`t apply to you. Any questions? I waited in vain for a bee.

November 20, 2023
It`s a bad day when I don`t open the camera bag until 6pm. My grainy image on a giant screen downtown. It`s classical music at work, but jazz on the way home. The voices in my head -- make them stop! The landscape of dinner.

November 21, 2023
The tree lighting is Friday, so let`s test them on Tuesday. During last year`s holiday festival, there was TROUBLE. This year, all we need is more barricades. I see other people doing things that I would never do. Just more regrettable photos taken after dark. I carefully decorated my car for the autumn season.

November 22, 2023
Last-minute adjustments at the North Pole. The person who almost ran me over in a crosswalk today. Check back for daily updates. An elephant standing in egg yolks. Monolith on Main Street. Hang it up. Take it down. It all seems pointless.

November 23, 2023
Thanksgiving feast. I put up the tree today. I heard voices in the park. I walked away from them. See shells? Twigs and sparkles.

November 24, 2023
Once a year, it`s important to watch where you step in downtown Dayton (see November 25, 2022). The Dayton Art Institute is a sweet place. Do you really need a conductor for `Jingle Bell Rock`? I guess you do need a conductor for a train. Ohio is a sweet place.

November 26, 2023
We didn`t sing all 30 songs. The tree had just been decorated. This is how the tree was acquired. When I was a kid, we drew pictures on paper. Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow.

November 27, 2023
My first photo of the day was a bit too bright. The next was a little blurry. My flashes worked perfectly at home . . . . . . but when I got to the shoot, they didn`t work. I kept doing the same thing the same way until I got different results, and the picture turned out just fine.

November 28, 2023
The domino theory at work. Nobody else was dumb enough to go out into the cold. But nobody else got to see this perfect little disc of ice. There`s so much LIFE all around us. PARENTHOOD: Where`s your other mitten? I told you to hold onto them! Why don`t you do what I told you?

November 29, 2023
Creeping out small children since 1943. Receding lines are nice, but curves are better. Outside the Starbucks. Someone may be showing compassion to the person who lives in the parking garage (see October 31, 2023). It`s always something. ROSEANNE ROSEANNADANNA

November 30, 2023
Tires checked out okay (see November 29 above). In late November, insects (and photographers) have to take what they can get. These workmen will be the first to go down the slide (see November 15 above). Why do we leave milk and cookies for this guy? Life in the trees.
