Builders building a building. I took harmless photos of bubbles while being watched closely by a suspicious person. Don`t worry, her baby was wearing a hardhat. Now is that time of year when I take way too many pictures of birds. Tuesday was a sun day.

Parallel lines, parallel lives. High above the downtown Dayton Arcade. I hope you find this picture appeeling. Rooftop patriotism. The Dayton Arcade has a long way to go.

May 3, 2018
Grackles and starlings overcome their differences to plot the overthrow of humans (see December 12, 2016). A shamelessly pretty picture. Bringing you springtime, one flower at a time. Ahh . . . remember privacy? It was either this or another bird photo.

Normal traffic behavior is suspended at this intersection (see November 3, 2017). I have to cross it twice a day. Look quickly while it`s in bloom: Prairie Fire Crabapple. Natural or man-made: which is better? I wouldn`t drive behind that truck if I were you. Ohio is Big Sky Country.

May 5, 2018
It`s nest-building season. For a long time, I watched a young squirrel having fun playing with toys, like this leaf and pieces of mulch. About to finish college. Haven`t started college. Adolescence is a time of change.

After some uncertainty, I think spring is finally here. Close encounters with a tulip. Watch out squirrels (see April 18, 2018). Make pollen while the sun shines. The bee was much heavier than the flowers, so it would land on a petal and hang on as the whole thing dropped.

She asked me for advice as she graduates high school. I shared my wisdom, so she should be set for life now. But then she asked other people for their advice too. What do THEY know? My advice to this guy: take the stairs. Bridges aren`t usually see-through. I`m guessing it`s a Northern Rough-winged Swallow. There were lots of them swooping all around me.

Skateboarders not welcome. Today I walked wherever the traffic lights led me. If the light was red, I turned. I don`t plan pictures in advance. An election day reflection back to Abner Orick, a Dayton city commissioner from the 1970s to the 1990s. I had to stand in the middle of Main Street to get this. This unleashed poodle was too close to Main Street, though its owner seemed unconcerned.

May 9, 2018
Ask the Man Who Owns One. It`s gonna be a bright, bright, bright sunshiny day. JOHNNY NASH Love will last until the next time it rains. A grackle trying to be a waterfowl. What this country needs is border security.

May 10, 2018
Please Do Not Feed the Troll. This actually makes me happy, since my deteriorating street is going to get repaved. Irises have popped. Have you met my friend Sunny? Fractal Rain by Terry Welker.

May 11, 2018
The lady in red. Airborne. Try getting this shot with your camera. There are some talented dancers at Stivers. Celebration!

May 12, 2018
A sprinkler does a good job of simulating dew. I took this with a group of people watching. No pressure. People in my photography workshop today got to take pictures of this turtle because it was stuck on that rock. Oh good, we really need another generation of geese. That`s a very small V.

May 13, 2018
It is the healing plant that the Men of the West brought to Middle-earth. Athelas they named it, and it grows now sparsely. `The Fellowship of the Ring` by J.R.R. Tolkien. I took a trip across the pond today. The next generation. Aphrodite Emerging from Her Bath. On the hunt for bugs.

May 14, 2018
And I thought they were just going to fix the sidewalk (see April 10 and May 7, 2018). Not a duck. Water falls. Have you thanked a pollinator today? Just about everything makes me think of ice cream.

May 15, 2018
This person pays less to park than I do. It`s dangerous to cross the street in downtown Dayton. Any door that needs instructions is poorly designed. Oh, what a tangled mess. Today begins and ends with bikes.

May 16, 2018
`Ah, yes, I`m here to complain about my bill.` A shiny new building is taking shape downtown. Tropical flowers bloom on Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. I can`t adequate express how filthy the river water is. Dirty river water doesn`t seem to bother them.

May 17, 2018
It`s great weather to leave the windows open. Nature always wins. The bridge to nowhere. I always have fun. Street paving took longer than expected, but resulted in this ghostly photo. I had to walk across that hot asphalt.

May 18, 2018
A cardinal built her nest too close to my porch. The male was always chirping complaints and now they`re gone. The best time of year is when I can go outside with my camera in the morning before I go to work. Have you tried any of those meal delivery services? A subtle selfie. When the dog gets tired of fetch.

May 19, 2018
Where I spent many hours this evening. Fortunately, I had these to give me energy. Everybody loves a harpist. This 3 1/2 year old had a hands-on encounter. The sun sets on the harpist.

May 20, 2018
There`s a Dayton landmark right at the end of my street. Harley hat trick. I`ve felt that way sometimes. The street paving project is taking longer than expected. The best Dayton Opera production I`ve ever seen.

May 21, 2018
Springtime, and that`s all I need. The river continues to surprise me. Some things cannot be explained. The street paving project is taking longer than expected. The reclusive narcissist.

May 22, 2018
I`m grateful that I have a job. I`m even more grateful that I have a job indoors. All day long, swallows swallow bugs on the river. I`m so happy to share my crosswalk with you today. I often feel a certain lack of clarity after eating lunch. There may have been a message in the bottle, but I wasn`t going to get my shoes wet to find out.

May 23, 2018
I walked out early this morning with my camera. Convergence. That reminds me: I need to go to the library. The ride nobody wants to take. Sorry to interrupt your breakfast.

May 24, 2018
There were two photo sessions going on in the garden. A fella hardly had room to take pictures of the flowers. There was a bunny by the pond, but I showed you a bunny yesterday. Named for Badminton House in Gloucestershire, England. A hazy shade of springtime. The house on the hill.

May 25, 2018
I saw this photo and thought, `I got my bee for the day.` A little protein in the morning. Today I begin my 15th year of taking photos every day. I was out on the prairie by myself this morning. I saw two hummingbirds today. Here`s a sparrow.

May 26, 2018
That moment when you realize it`s beyond your control. A concussion waiting to happen. She hesitated to come out of the goal, and it cost her. When players go down inside the penalty box, there`s usually a lot of screaming for the benefit of the referee. Hands usually have the advantage over feet.

May 27, 2018
Alvin. Simon. Theodore. Chip. Dale.

May 28, 2018
A ravishing readhead. A gorgeous ginger. A cute coppertop. An attractive auburn. A magnificent MC1R.

May 29, 2018
It`s time for the KCC spring concert (well, the rehearsal). La La Land. During a rehearsal, I can go wherever I want. The concert included some colorful music. There was an Irish theme, complete with Celtic dancers.

May 30, 2018
Shots I can get because I get there an hour early. The concert program said `NO PHOTOGRAPHS!` because Adam Alonzo will be taking pictures. These dresses are nicer than the blue t-shirts yesterday. During the concert, I can`t roam around the stage. A local Irish band called Wild Rumpus.

May 31, 2018
Urban wildlife. I`ve got my ducks in a row. When players outnumber the spectators. The duck didn`t want to play. Last year at this time, this was empty space.
