Ever heard of the band Home Free? They`re inside there. Just a bird. Today is the unveiling of this new mural along the river. Does it need to be covered with a 900-foot veil first? Always lock your bike! Dayton is becoming a very bike-friendly city.

They had a blanket to protect them from the cold rain. I just got wet. She had a poncho to protect her from the cold rain. I just got wet. She had a jacket to protect her from the cold rain. I just got wet. They had blinding pink jackets to protect them from the cold rain. I just got wet. They had youthful enthusiasm to protect them from the cold rain. I just got wet.

He`s at the forty -- the thirty -- he could go all the way! Other people`s accomplishments. Dinner looked good as I watched everyone else eating it. But I could`ve had all the water I wanted. `Go home now?`

Today was the first rehearsal for Onyx Color Guard (see September 20, 2015). The team has an exhausting rehearsal every weekend. Team members alternated between dance and flag work. Experienced leaders taught the performers many subtle nuances that make Onyx a world champion level team. Why spin a flag with your hands? Use your neck!

It`s about 9:20. Time to start thinking about the possibility of maybe going to work today. Have you met my friend Sunny? How much is that photographer in the window? This guy is building a new library for me. It was a bright and sunny morning.

October 6, 2015
Pecking order. It`s very hard to find pants my size. Cloudy sky upside down in a smooth river. Point at a spot, focus and wait. The bikers will come. Last call for springtime.

Reflecting on the day`s cruelties. Photographers work hard to make you look good. Rita Mae Brown is an American author, feminist and civil rights activist. And then I was trampled by a herd of healthy people. Other people`s trash doesn`t interest me -- normally.

It`s autumn . . . . . . but let`s pretend it`s still summer. See what I did there? I followed and violated the rule of thirds in the same picture. There was another photographer taking pictures nearby. We were both thinking, `What on EARTH is he doing?` There were lots of photographers out tonight.

It`s embarrassing how often I get compliments like this (see September 24, 2015). Late this afternoon, I felt the vending machine calling me. Sometimes at work, you just have to stop and ponder. Scene from a river. Sweet ride.

Dad will never notice the dents on top of the car. It appears that my nephew likes hot Cheetos. It appears that my sister likes cats. `Wise men say only fools rush in . . . ` Welcome to the world, blue eyes.

My neighbors are so nosy. Greetings from Dayton, Ohio. I took this in the dark recesses of the parking garage at a hospital that has a no-smoking policy for its employees. I walked through someone else`s neighborhood today. Life, the inextinguishable.

Artist at work, part 1. Artist at work, part 2. Guy who wanted his picture taken. Cows scream louder than carrots. Go Vegan. Don`t press your luck. Walk a different way.

Good morning, sunshine. Hey, where`s the fire? The fool on the hill sees the sun going down, and the eyes in his head see the world spinning round. PAUL MCCARTNEY Remaining alert to SOUNDS often leads to PICTURES. The days of plentiful food will soon come to an end.

When Noel Coward`s `Blithe Spirit` was produced in England in 1941, it ran for a record 1,997 performances. Death becomes her. One character on stage was always `over the top.` There`s almost nothing my camera can`t do. I knew it was coming and got out of the way just in time.

The public library just puked its guts out. This evening`s forecast: partly breathtaking skies. This is what I really meant on October 1 above. ZAP! When despair for the world grows in me, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. WENDELL BERRY

To Ocean`s Child I say good night. CHRISTINE FORD AND TRISH HOLLAND Decorative but useless. Ewww -- she lost her lunch on the sidewalk. Friday was sun day. Trying and fighting, holding on, laughing and crying -- That`s what you do when you`re young and in love. HUNTER HAYES

I am in denial about the changing seasons. Leaf splashdown. Still life with flowers. Try as I might, I can`t like fall. How much wood would a woodpecker peck if a woodpecker could peck wood?

October 18, 2015
My goal in life is to disappear. Preparing for the long winter ahead. Preparing for the long winter ahead. Them`s fightin` words! Too small to smash in the street.

October 19, 2015
Color coordination along the river. It`s still summer, right? Just flew in from Canada. A clean building is a happy building. I just love summer, don`t you?

October 20, 2015
I`ll take some money too, thanks. Even as I took this picture, I knew that it wasn`t my style. It reminds me a little of Philip-Lorca diCorcia. Sacred rooftop. Even as I took this picture, I knew that it wasn`t my style. It reminds me a little of Grant Wood. It was a nice night for a 5K run.

The Gem City. Who needs a drone when there`s an express elevator? Should I eat this, or . . . . . . should I eat this? I think the answer is clear. But I should NOT eat birthday cake that`s a week old.

October 22, 2015
I got a free Fronana today, so life is good. I`m going to name my first child Filbert. I pay actual money so my car can sit here all day. And then a dog barked so I walked away. This building ALREADY WAS painted creatively.

October 23, 2015
Where the amazing photos begin. Plotting a breakout. Clueless people jaywalk while a line of cars waits. A black jacket would probably match better. Now that`s a lot of Ovaltine.

October 24, 2015
It was a beautiful fall day in downtown Dayton. Someone nearby asked, `Are you a model?` I answered, `No, but she is.` I get that question all the time. It was hard to pick five photos since they were all so good. We managed not to get kicked out of the Schuster Center. If I`m lucky, you`ll see her here again when it gets warmer.

October 25, 2015
Ah, the beauty of autumn. There were a few other photo sessions going on nearby. In her boots, she was taller than me. When she flashed that smile, watch out! It was so warm, we did some spring pictures too.

October 26, 2015
Fall on the wall. And I thought MY job was odd (see October 12 above). Tools of the trade. Dying a little bit each day (as are we all). Is this a joke?

October 27, 2015
We encountered a random dog during Saturday`s shoot. Some faces don`t need any improvements in Photoshop. Boots on the ground. Zoi`s boots in the autumn leaves. These photos prompted me to clean my computer desk. Wait -- what? Yes, I occasionally take pictures of guys.

October 28, 2015
The kindness of strangers. Classical coffee. Another herd of healthy people (see October 7 above). Eye in the sky. Paul in the fall.

October 29, 2015
I used to take pictures like this all the time. Now I do it only in moments of desperation. When did the leaves leave? Licorice stick. How can I put this tactfully? Ludwig van Beethoven, as drawn by Paul Ackley.

The short person usually loses. Ready to serve. Two against one. Ready for anything. Ready SET go!

`I WON!` When it`s cold outside and there are sports inside, suddenly I`m a sports photographer. This is the point where I would be screaming. Who`s swimming? Who`s winning? I don`t care. She`s a flower this year (see October 25, 2014; October 26, 2013; and October 27, 2012).
