There was a swarm of kids roaming the sidewalk asking for money, so I shot this safely from across the street. I really hope he`s not planning to eat anything he catches. Water is truly worth more than diamonds. Fortunately we have more water than we have diamonds. City traffic rushes past while I kneel on the sidewalk.

Coming in low over the Great Miami River. The hunger of the beast can never be satisfied. In a word, today was HOT. Ponytails in motion tend to stay in motion. I`ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend, but I always thought I`d get an e-mail from you again.

Urban waterfowl. What kinda gee-tar is that? I certainly hope you brought a towel. Sometimes Siri can`t help you. Some sort of scavenger hunt was going on downtown and overzealous participants were running through traffic.

Sunday morning in the park with flowers, birds, fish and screaming children getting their photographs taken. Water striders are our friends:  they eat bugs but not us. Can I get just . . . a bit . . . closer without falling in? No, that`s fine little girl, just scare away the big dragonfly.  I`ll take a picture of this dumb flower instead. Water molecules have a stronger attraction to each other than they do to the air, contracting into droplets like this.

The best time for vagrants to rummage through our garbage cans is right after the neighborhood garage sale. I try to create an illusion of flowers growing in a field, but most of my flower photos are taken on urban sidewalks.

It ain`t supposed to be pretty. This paint is peeling in an appealing way. The random patterns of nature. Your Rose of Today. Bumblebees buzz around my porch in the summer and don`t bother anybody, but today they`re dead on the sidewalk.  Maybe somebody was bothered after all.

Leafy landscape. I`ve gotta pick up Betty Lou and take her to the sock hop. Watch Out for Motorcycles. I just sat and watched the birds for a while this morning. This rabbit may have felt bored by me and my camera, but not threatened.  This is one of about 50 pictures I took of it.

Photographing this sweet smile once a year isn`t enough. There are many beautiful things in my neighborhood. This is much better than my last shot (see June 6 above). They say Audrey Hepburn died in 1993, but I`m not sure. Why are you reading this?  Just look at the picture.

`Do you mind?  I`m busy here.` My National Geographic Field Guide to Birds failed me, but Google came through:  it`s a blue-gray gnatcatcher. I had the garden to myself until 9:00am, when two other photographers showed up and began shooting portraits. This is a good visual representation of my piano skills. And then I shot Bambi.

After the daily downpour. Newcom Park in a water droplet. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the web again. Nature has taken its course (see May 3, 2015). This was in my bag of `baby carrots.`  Childhood obesity is real!

Keeping up with the Jones Street lilies. It sounds impossible, but I`ve seen it many times.  A bug is sitting on a flower before and after I take a photo, but it jumps up at the very moment the picture is taken. Undecided. How do you tell what time it is on a rainy day? Bugs for breakfast.

This fence will exist longer than this flower, but flowers will exist longer than fences. Ready to pounce on me. Eww -- that settles it:  I`ll never let a starling kiss me. When an Army Ranger aircraft circles overhead with its side door open, just be patient and keep looking up. The hazards of urban parachuting.

I knew this was a bad idea (see June 16 above). An advance scout looking for something to latch onto (see July 11, 2012). Poised on the boundary between spring and summer, I am no longer SAD (see October 15, 2014). So, it rained a little. I never touch the stuff myself, but it`s a nice gesture.

i’m gonna rise up be a trumpet in the morning. ARTHUR BROWN I`ve felt that way too (see June 15 above). It usually takes lots of pictures to get a good one like this.  Fortunately it doesn`t cost anything to take digital photos. FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! So fragile . . . don’t break it (see November 16, 2008;  August 28, 2009;  and November 19, 2009).

This species of woodpecker isn`t supposed to be in Ohio. Pretty stuff in ugly places. `Don’t fence me in!` Sunrise on a stalk. This cardinal was loudly singing with a mouth full of bug.

I`m still editing photos I took two weeks ago (see June 12 above). The most time-consuming task is to look through hundreds of similar photos and choose the best ones for editing. Detail of Kelley`s dress. And that`s me in her eye. The end result for one photo, and there are 39 more to go.

I`m not sure everyone in this picture is having fun. Lots of people paid money to dunk the school principal. The key ingredient of funnel cake. It`s June 27 and I`m wearing a sweatshirt and a jacket. Musicians are the quiet and introverted type.

This bee was too soggy and groggy to fly, but one did come after me today, which is pretty rare.  I backed off. There were no mercenary photographers in the park this morning, trying to take pictures of screaming children. It was just me and the singing birds, the buzzing bees, the silent butterflies -- and a dog barking in the distance. Daisy, Daisy, I`m half-crazy all for the love of you. What`s going on here is more important than anything you or I did today, but hardly anyone is concerned. Bathtime for birdie. Honeybees are a rare sight this year. Someone needs to invent a car alarm that detects cats. The shed is empty.  Let`s lock it.

Signs of summer. Do the dew. Go to where the food and water are and just wait. Bees are more likely to pose for photos in the morning. What squirrel?
