We ate lunch at the same time. Look out any window. BRUCE HORNSBY & THE RANGE Trees are blossoming. Go outside right now! Trees are blossoming. Go outside right now! Trees are blossoming. Go outside right now!

After eighth period, there`s a rock band. My high school was never like this. Then there was a bit of liturgical dance. Followed, of course, by a hula hoop juggler on a unicycle. She started singing `Pastures of Plenty` and everyone in the room kept talking. They are collaborators in every possible way.

Saturday morning in America. At this age, patriotism is not confused with politics. The mayor throws out the first pitch, and Little League`s 75th season has officially begun. Modern Bride. It was a bright and breezy walk to the library this afternoon. On the way, I was solicited for gas money and cigarettes.

The morning buzz. I regret that I have but one leaf to give for this Web page. Amazingly it could still sing even with worms in its mouth. Death among the tulips. After I took this one, I thought, `Okay, I can go home now.`

Air Force One flies into church steeple. Just another Monday in the DYT. Stalemate: bus driver blows horn, man refuses to move. Disconsolate duck. Proof that moving straight ahead can lead way off course. Hundreds of years ago, where did they park their horses?

The Dayton mayor robocalled today to remind me to vote. Most of my nature photos are taken on city streets. Someone else`s dinner. Check this out. Did you catch the pun in the last caption? Just wonderin`.

Ready and waiting for a wedding. Anyone? Carefully crafted Catholic crosses. I arrived at the park and thought, `They need to mow.` Then I saw this and thought, `Glad they haven`t mowed.` I wasn`t the only one glad to see the flowers. I am ashamed to admit when I saw these tulips together, I said `Awwww!`

Ready and waiting for a wedding. Anyone? I scream, you scream, I dropped my ice cream. The day had come to the belfries of all Christendom. Wait, what season is this? The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time. JAMES TAYLOR

Hazel: strength and flexibility. Hazel: beauty and grace. Hazel: talent and determination. Hazel: kindness and sensitivity. Hazel: unlimited potential.

Bailey: enthusiasm. Bailey: style Bailey: youth. Bailey: sass. Bailey: beauty.

I promised myself I wouldn`t take a lot of closeups today, and when I got to the park this is the first thing I shot. Who are you, child? `Why, I`m a lesser maple spanworm.` It was raining as I drove to the park, but I kept going and it had stopped by the time I arrived. It looks like a pretty simple photograph. It wasn`t. Backstage view.

After three successful picture-taking days, the pendulum swings back to junk like this. We don`t photograph the robins we want. We photograph the robins we can. Warren Street on the way to the library. Warren Street on the way from the library. The desperate, late-night fifth photo.

May 13, 2014
Stand on my porch and you will be surrounded by these. My second regrettable robin in as many days. `Gee, it sure is swell to sit here in the park, ain`t it Dad?` `Yes it is, Beaver, but don`t say ain`t.` Well, the wolf huffed and puffed but he could not blow down that house of bricks. It`s very rare that I like a photo so much that I put it on my desktop both at home and at work (see May 10 above).

Be vewwy qwiet! They`re building a road right in the middle of the street. What an awful week of picture-taking this has become. My own laziness was made worse by bad weather. Trash day tomorrow.

I would need to like myself a lot more than I do before I`d indulge in those. Disappointment in myself keeps me thin. Even someone disappointed in himself can enjoy pizza. It was rather cold for an outdoor concert. Yes, I was that close to the trombone section. She was the one playing trombone in the previous photo, and also the unicycle hula hoop juggler on May 2 above!

Different cake, different students, same photographer (see May 10, 2013). Wallflower. Where did Dorothy go? She was standing right here. Voted Most Likely to Succeed. Youthful enthusiasm.

After a rainy start, this morning I was able to lead an outdoor nature photography workshop. It is rewarding to teach photography to people who have an appetite for learning and an eye for beauty. We all took turns photographing this toadstool filled with rainwater. It looked like a tiny birdbath. The rain to the wind said, `You push and I`ll pelt.` They so smote the garden bed that the flowers actually knelt. ROBERT FROST Solomon`s seal ready to bloom.

The flute player wore a dress with musical notes on it. The cellist played a sweet suite. The man in the mirror. I guess those April showers were worth it after all. Another sign of spring.

Final choir concert of her final year of high school. Selfie king. Stairway to Vandalia. `Noddin` my head like yeah! Movin` my hips like yeah!` Finally, Miley Cyrus enters the choral repertoire. `Hey, would you take our picture?` I rarely say no to that.

May 20, 2014
I`m confused. Should I stop or not? Another selfie king. The band director (artist`s rendering). Don`t put your mouth on that thing. You don`t know where it`s been. The clarinet player wore a bow with musical notes on it.

May 21, 2014
Harp in the dark. Warming up the singers before the concert. One of the violinists had `The Catcher in the Rye` under the chair. Maybe they were singing the same song as the other choir on April 4, 2011. The were definitely on the same stage. This was a tough shot. I impress even myself sometimes.

If you bring a peony in the house, shake the ants out first. The best place to find seeds is beneath the bird feeder. Be sure to brush every day. Very, very loud. These weren`t here five minutes ago.

May 23, 2014
Happy clouds. Reflections and shadows, sunlight and sidewalk. I had to crouch awkwardly for this one, but it worked out. My life isn`t nearly that colorful. Light and shadows are all I need for amusement.

May 24, 2014
On a shady sidewalk in the Oregon District. This reminds me of an album cover from the 1970s. I told her to turn off her smile for this picture. It`s best to take pictures early in the morning since there are fewer people around to create distractions. I used my own porch for this one.

Can you remember where you were ten years ago today? I recall the circumstances very clearly. It was a Tuesday, and in the morning I went to a camera store and purchased my first digital camera. It cost a lot of money, and so to justify the expense I promised myself that I would use it every day. I began to take pictures all of the time and I put five photos from every day on this Web page. That was 3,653 days (or ten years) ago and I haven`t missed a day in all that time!

I think this photo is something to crow about. Hey, can I burro your donkey? Ah, the breeze felt good. It kept coming toward me shaking its tail feathers. I`m not sure if it was trying to threaten me or court me. `First they took my legs off and they threw them over there! Then they took my chest out and they threw it over there!`

May 27, 2014
Wait -- what? The person in the yellow truck blew the horn repeatedly, trying to intimidate the other driver to pull out into traffic. It was that kind of day, photographically speaking. Wait -- what? Groovy, man.

May 28, 2014
I listen more closely to bird songs than I do human voices, and I watch the blooming of flowers instead of TV shows. As of today, I`ve gone without television for eleven years. Look what I saw. Consider the former baseball diamond. I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like this. A nice parting gift as I went out this door for the last time. FREE AT LAST!

May 29, 2014
It`s a beast to keep in tune. I had lunch with some musical people. My new identity. It was very good, thanks. Day 1.

May 30, 2014
I don`t know who Esther Price was, but she was a genius. Beauty in the office. My car was angry at me for leaving it in this place all day. It`s good that the parking garage doesn`t have windows. Day 2.

It could`ve run away, but just sat and stared at me a while. If someone in my photography workshop showed me this I`d give them a long list of things that could`ve been better. It was a beautiful morning and the garden was full of photographers taking pictures of screaming children. Look, he`s waving. Can I help you carry that?
