Today I had to go to court.  I was accused of racketeering. By playing just the way that I taught him, this afternoon my nephew broke the school record for wins in a season. One of my nephew`s particularly strong serves. His opponent gave a good effort and showed a lot of class, but it was a very brief match. Long ago, my favorite restaurant was called Red Barn.

One raindrop on a rose petal refracting other raindrops. A beautiful spring evening can leave me feeling goofy. Spokes in the sky. WARNING:  Choking hazard. Without light, photographs are impossible.  And without the RIGHT light, photographs are dull.

This town is experiencing a lot of growth. There were lots of other photographers in the park, but they were taking pictures of families and prom couples. The prom couples who wanted a photo by the fountain had to WAIT until I was finished. Moths are the poor cousins of the Lepidoptera family. Swim now, hop later.

The popcorn trees on my street are beginning to pop. You can pick up a lot of germs by touching doorknobs. I took a lot of pictures like this in my youth (around 2004). No burglar alarm necessary. He left us much too soon.

Senioritis is acute at this time of year. High atop the church tower. You also have to walk down, so that makes 102 steps. But the view is terrific. No stair climbing required here - just kneeling.

Getting tackled isn`t supposed to be fun. Most players had no clear understanding of what to do, but everyone knew that it was very important to catch the ball. Don`t mess with No. 12.  Oh, wait -- they`re ALL No. 12. Eyes on the prize. Losing badly, but still smiling.

Me -- in a French horn. For over a dozen years, I`ve been coming to hear college students perform in this concert hall.  It is my destiny. Reminds me of No. 12`s face from yesterday. In a Gilbert & Sullivan opera, they repeat the same lyrics.  In a Gilbert & Sullivan opera, they repeat the same lyrics. This year, I took their picture from a ladder (see May 8, 2011).

Something natural, something manmade. END NED DNE. In case you haven`t read it, this is a really good -- What?  No, I don`t have any money.  I can`t take pictures on the sidewalk without being approached by panhandlers. Out of the clear blue sky. I like walking through the Oregon District on a spring -- What?  No, I don`t have any nuts.

A passing driver stopped and advised me where I could find `some cool shots.`  Thanks, got it covered. I just love a good old fashioned railroad sing. Here comes the sun. This shape doesn`t really exist.  It`s an optical delusion. A pathetic attempt to remove the graffiti only reinforces it.

Turn off the TV and come outside to watch the best shows. Thinking about Georgia O`Keefe as I pushed the button. That`s a lot.  But not a whole lot. Lots of leaves in today`s pictures.  Get the salad dressing. Brown Street BMW.

Tomorrow I will teach a photography workshop in which I will tell people not to take pictures like this. Miles Davis, and a drainpipe. I`m still not tired of taking photos of flowers. Puny passenger. Not QUITE ready for tomorrow`s photography workshop.

After my photography workshop this morning, I stayed at the park taking pictures.  It was an exceptional spring day. An extremely rare silver flamingo. You count too. I`m glad to see more bikes and bike racks everywhere. Remember the fountain from May 5 above?

My car was really dirty, but fortunately twelve of my closest friends volunteered to wash it for me. What`s good for the goose . . .  . . . is good for the remote controlled model sailboat. It takes speed, proper equipment and fearlessness. Someone is feeling cut off from the world right now.

As school comes to an end, there`s a lot of this going on. Congratulations on the generous scholarship, but good luck depositing that check in the ATM. Voted by her classmates Most Likely to Sprain an Ankle. Please wait until the names of all the graduates have been announced before applauding. I like my neighbor and all, but I`m glad it was her car that got vandalized and not mine.

My life in theatre. It was just a rehearsal, so I could`ve stayed home tonight. I`m very glad I didn`t. Wait -- I`ve said that once before (see April 4, 2011). In case you were wondering who was rehearsing. Some of the singers are bigger than others. Thinking about Edgar Degas as I pushed the button.

Rehearsal is over.  Time for the show to begin. He traded yesterday`s t-shirt for today`s tuxedo. This choir is comprised of exceptional young people.  Backstage one cried as she read `Uncle Tom`s Cabin.` Some of the singers are smaller than others. Did I mention I was the only person authorized to take photos during the concert?  You just wish you were me.

Eight years ago today, I started taking photos and haven`t missed a day.  I`ve owned three cameras, but never put on a camera strap until I had to use this contraption today. Television news. Thinking about M. C. Escher as I pushed the button. There`s not enough time in the day to enjoy the day. Experimenting with the contraption in the living room, concerned about tomorrow when I cannot miss a shot.

My high-pressure photo shoot went very well today, despite the complicated contraption I had to use. Don`t be intimidated by the blank page before you.  CHARISSA COX, Student Government President Vocal recital! Never criticize your piano accompanist. I actually came to the recital for the cupcakes.

She placed it perfectly in the upper left corner of the goal and the keeper could only stand there and watch it go in. I always hated that part. She had made an even better save moments earlier, but there weren`t a bunch of colorful uniforms in that photo. This is harder than it looks. It`s always fun until somebody sprains an ankle.

Such an enviably simple life.  Such a unenviably short life. I planned to have a bug-and-flower photo fest this morning, but left my bug-and-flower lens at home.  So I improvised. Insect fashion. Nest-building day. The British Empire collapsed because they wasted all of their time standing around arguing about this dumb game.

If you`re quiet, they`ll sometimes land right on your hand. Evening breeze. Homeward bound. Is someone in there looking out at me? In a May 14 letter to the Boston Police Department, the U. S. Department of Justice reaffirmed the right of citizens to photograph police officers in the discharge of their duties.
