It was so cold, even the plants had goosebumps. Now is the time to eat pumpkins on front porches. Who`s going to clean that up? I take pictures of things only I can see. Stayin` alive! THE BEE GEES

Taking pictures on the way to teach a photography class. I`m apparently an animated instructor. Reflections on autumn. Today I updated this Web page with my latest photos, but I was missing pictures from a couple days. In a panic I looked through all my memory cards. FOUND EM! This old guitar taught me to sing a love song. It showed me how to laugh and how to cry. JOHN DENVER

Other people`s photo shoots. A tire patch will fix that right up. Once it turns cold, I have to do more with less. Lots of people are taking care of the Oregon District. Doing more with less.

Balance. Autumn gives me a sinking feeling. I was unprepared to see an ice skating rink already. November is when everything begins to go all wrong. The wicked winds of autumn.

November 5, 2019
Who`s trippin` down the streets of the city, smilin` at everybody she sees? RUTHANN FRIEDMAN No. Stop. Make it stop. Call the police! Oh wait, forget it. I can walk and take pictures at the same time. See, they`ve already put an elevator in the Arcade (see July 17, 2019).

November 6, 2019
Basketball season tips off in front of a small crowd. When the announcer said, `GOOD EVENING, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,` I wondered who he was talking to. Intensity. I was sitting close enough to get injured. After a rough start, the home team won big. Rebound!

Sometimes we try and we succeed. Sometimes we fail. There`s always someone having a worse day than you. You`ve seen this building before. I guess I could spend all winter driving around taking pictures from my car with the heater running full blast. All the pretty lights.

College volleyball is at a higher altitude than high school. Teamwork. Stalemate. Candid camera. The dreaded double block.

November 9, 2019
Teams from Liberty and Independence played for the state title. Legalism and Restraint lost in the semi-final. Liberty was pretty confident they would win. They did. Putting her game face on. From the first play of the game I knew No. 12 was going to be a problem for Fenwick. She was the most versatile player I`ve seen, as if she doesn`t realize she`s 6` 3``. But David couldn`t slay Goliath today, and the heavily-favored Fenwick took home the trophy (assuming they were able to get it back from their fans in the crowd).

Get enough copper and you`ll attain immortality. They chopped down her tree (see November 19, 2017, and January 27, 2019). An airplane on Orville Wright`s grave. Yes, it feels that way sometimes (see December 6, 2017). What could possibly go wrong?

November 11, 2019
It`s WDPR`s birthday. Bring me chocolate cake. Man versus nature. I came upon this scene and knew it would make a good photo, so I heard Michael Jackson in my head singing `The doggone gull is mine.` 1pm. 6pm.

Enriched wheat flour (flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid). Cheddar cheese (cultured milk, salt, enzymes, annatto). Canola and/or sunflower oils. Salt, yeast, sugar, autolyzed yeast, baking soda. Paprika, spices, celery, monocalcium phosphate, onion powder.

Morning on Jupiter (see October 13, 2008). And it`s not even winter yet. It`s an honor just to be nominated. It`s beginning to look a lot like you know what. I still use this pencil sharpener that I got as a high school graduation present in 1982. That`s a new pencil, though.

November 14, 2019
It`s November, so that means a stately old tree must die. Nature went SPLAT at my feet. Photos I took on my most fun day of the summer (June 21, 2019) are immortalized on a giant screen downtown. Getting in touch with nature on a concrete sidewalk. Man versus nature, and man always loses.

November 15, 2019
What`s the point? Finished already (see June 12, 2018)? Third Street bridge is next! A typical street scene in Dayton, as PERFECTLY GOOD water pipes from the 1880s are being replaced. Time flows like a river. So does a river. Oh come on, crack a smile!

November 16, 2019
As I walked down the street with my camera, someone I don`t know complimented me on a photo I took in 2005. It was pretty nice (see December 8, 2005). Insatiable. Other people`s photo shoots. Amber waves. I wave back. I crossed its path, so that must be good luck.

November 17, 2019
So I`m not the only one reluctant to accept the change of season. Your move. The recollecting of Bloom keeps making November difficult. EMILY DICKINSON Life is a one-way trip. Chromaticism.

November 18, 2019
Other people working. Other people working. Other people working. Other people working. Other species flying.

November 19, 2019
Deck the sidewalks with boughs of holly. Together until the end. The daily commute. Every fall, nature reminds us of the brevity of life. Some days, the river thinks it`s a lagoon.

Vernon, baritone. Deborah, soprano. Elias, baritone. Leila, violinist. Jim, guitarist.

November 21, 2019
And then it started to rain. Looks delicious. And then it stopped raining. Carbon neutral. The colors of autumn.

Night scenes in the Oregon District. Night scenes in the Oregon District. Night scenes in the Oregon District. Night scenes in the Oregon District. Night scenes in the Oregon District.

Aim High: Air Force. Yes, elephants can fly. You can`t park your F-15 here. Missing man formation. Up, up the long delirious burning blue I`ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew. JOHN GILLESPIE MAGEE, JR.

November 24, 2019
Fall has fell. Shawnee Brave Bald Cypress is a deciduous conifer, and its feathery needles turn red before falling in autumn. I could make a picture like this in Photoshop, but it`s easier to do it in real life. Who are you calling a drip? There were photo shoots going on everywhere. This one was the most complicated, since they had to build a bed.

November 25, 2019
I thought about shaving this morning, but thoughts don`t get the job done. I thought about washing dishes, and actually did. If it`s raspberry tea, then the glass is half full. Mightier than the sword. Days are my friends during the spring and summer, but by late November they have become my adversary.

November 26, 2019
Please come to my house and clean up the front yard. It`s Christmastime in the city. Watching over downtown. Dayton`s Niagara. These cookies could also spell CRATE.

November 27, 2019
We were eating breakfast at the same time. Sonata for Two Guitars. I like to keep my stuff organized. Charging up for the weekend. Thanksgiving begins in three minutes.

November 28, 2019
No spot is so dear to my childhood as the little brown church in the vale. WILLIAM PITTS (see May 25, 2004) The best pictures can be taken on the floor. Starting his first Thanksgiving off right. She knows that days are for smiling and laughing. Table of plenty.

November 29, 2019
I`m sure this salsa group is authentic because when the bandleader speaks English I still can`t understand him. Polyrhythms: one in each hand. There are horns playing and vocalists singing, but this is where salsa begins. It isn`t usually this loud in the library. There isn`t usually so much dancing in the library. The Dayton Salsa Project!

If I looked in your mouth, would I be able to see Tony? Stay out of Room 237! Come play with us, Danny. Forever and ever and ever. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Here`s Johnny!
