For $150 your cat can be painted into this mural. What we`ve got here is failure to communicate. COOL HAND LUKE It`s not always pretty, but it`s my home. What one takes a photo of on Day 5,546. As long as they keep blooming, I`ll keep shooting them.

No thanks, I`ll take the stairs. Boy Blue (Ben Baugham) is an incredibly gifted artist. Holly & Emily will soon be famous pop music stars. Emory Road performed from the back of a pickup truck. And Mason Chambal was brilliant as always.

They crow in the early morning. And mid-morning. And early afternoon. Get to the pond early, then just wait for them to arrive. Hold still! Cute, but smelly. Donkeys just need a little affection.

August 4, 2019
Unity. Harmony. Togetherness. Teamwork. Music.

August 5, 2019
Dayton`s answer to Franky Zapata. Oh, the effort strangers go to to make my world pretty. Dayton`s answer to J. S. Bach. Probably not the same geese as August 3 above. Boy Blue spreads a positive message: Dayton No Fear.

August 6, 2019
Some days it`s easier to see that the world is beautiful. She`s in the water again (see July 23, 2019). Kayakers and surfers peacefully coexist at RiverScape. Don`t tell the birds: I got my car washed. So much for Boy Blue`s art (see August 5 above).

August 7, 2019
The garden is already starting to decline. Early morning is the best time to be outside. Look closely at the world around you. Little bee, you have no idea how important you are! Behind the hibiscus.

August 8, 2019
It was a good day not to be in the Oregon District. Ever feel like you just want to escape? No running near the pool! The morning buzz. It will be a long time before I get a better cardinal photo.

August 9, 2019
A pirate of very warlike appointment. WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (see July 7, 2019) A scholarship winner said her picture was probably bad. I said, `Any photo where you`re holding a giant check is a good photo.` This is the first time a real piano has been on the stage. One hazard of performing at an outdoor concert. Another hazard of playing outside: the wind might blow your sheet music. Luckily, the stage crew stepped in.

August 10, 2019
I drove to the race, took this picture, then drove home, exhausted. Very few musicians become rich. Another dog race with only one dog (see May 4, 2019). He didn`t know I was taking his picture. The man is an artist. Everybody polka!

August 11, 2019
Think about what`s going on here and you may go crazy. Guess what country I`m in right now. The fire extinguishers have been removed, replaced by a piece of paper that says EVACUATE! She crashed the Space Shuttle. I went to Polka Mass this morning.

August 12, 2019
Pretty in the parking lot. I managed to sneak up on a goldfinch. I didn`t sneak up on a monarch, but I have a long lens. I didn`t have to sneak up on the tiger swallowtail. It nearly flew into me. If only every day could be like this . . . but winter awaits.

August 13, 2019
Somebody wants to give you a big hug! Sparrow`s big score. Neighbors. Your moment with nature. Neighborhood watch.

August 14, 2019
A lot of ex-musicians gave away their instruments. We didn`t get 76 trombones -- only 17. We got just one Chinese pipa. A theatre-loving grasshopper. Red lights are for chumps.

August 15, 2019
I accidentally came across a butterfly sanctuary. Japanese beetles check in, but they don`t check out. The sounds of silence in the shell. Pet a fish. David versus Goliath.

August 16, 2019
I was just testing the camera, but it was worth keeping. It had finished the radius lines and was weaving the spiral from the inside out. I walked away before I went crazy (see August 11 above). I only have compound eyes for you. It wasn`t a peaceful morning in the garden, thanks to the lawnmowers. Who knew that a praying mantis molted?

August 17, 2019
Hmm, something isn`t quite right here. Better, but something`s still missing. Yes, now I`ve got an idea. This is my favorite food object. But then comes the cleaning up.

August 18, 2019
Every portrait is a collaboration between the photographer and subject, but in this shot she brought more to the partnership than I did. Beauty and symmetry in the same picture. We starting early in the morning and it paid off here. She`s a lot younger than you think she is. She`s kind of a superhero.

2News: Working for You. I asked if she gets to drive a special vehicle. She said, `I drive whatever vehicle has gas in it.` Just a couple enjoying a summer evening on the river. Just a couple enjoying a summer evening on the river. It was in the 90s, but felt good after working all day in an overly air conditioned office.

The game was tied 0-0, then Carroll let it slip away. She missed it, so the next serve came straight to her. A teenager`s enthusiasm is, literally, unadulterated. She`d do a silly dance to the music during timeouts, then turn up the intensity when the game resumed. This player`s serve reminded me of the impossible flight of the bumblebee.

August 21, 2019
Try sitting on a flower and see how easy it is (see August 12 above). Time for a violin lesson. Be kind. Feeling tired out. No hawks nested in the neighborhood this year, so there were four squirrels climbing fearlessly on this tree.

August 22, 2019
It`s been a long time since I`ve awarded an idiot driver of the day (see February 23, March 10 and April 18, 2017). It must be nice having nothing to do during the day. Oh look, a new way to get hurt in downtown Dayton. A test of patience on the Main Street bridge. This fountain would look a lot better if a girl with long dark hair stood in front of it (see August 24 below).

August 23, 2019
Serving it up piping hot. This kept happening again and again. Eleven times, according to the stats. It took the visiting team over three hours to drive here, and less than 90 minutes to get whupped. Somebody sitting behind me kept yelling, `Let`s go red!` I don`t know if that meant the uniforms or the ginger. College lighting is better than high school lighting (see August 20 above).

August 24, 2019
In November, she may be crowned the next Miss Ohio. We had a fun time taking pictures on a beautiful morning. It was challenging to keep her glorious hair under control. She`s an autumn person looking ahead to cool weather. The fountain looks better than it did on August 22 above.

August 25, 2019
No object ever created by people is more significant than this, and yet people obsess over their artificial creations. Behind the scenes on the same leaf. The day was full of people, but the morning was solitary. I heard their chirping all around me in the park. Don`t point a camera at the sun. Do as I say not as I do.

August 26, 2019
It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now to give it the perfect ending was a bit of the old Ludwig van. A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. Take your lady and balance down the middle to the merry strains of the corn-stalk fiddle. PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR One of my previous violin photos has been immortalized. There`s a frood who really knows where his towel is. THE HITCHHIKER`S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY Why I need a towel in the car.

August 27, 2019
Leafy greens are good for you. Tiny houses are really becoming popular. A work in progress in my neighborhood. Do Not Block Exit. Memento mori: in the end, we all share the same fate.

August 28, 2019
Other people work while I eat free pizza. Chaos amid order. To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose both looks like carelessness. LADY BRACKNELL in The Importance of Being Earnest Dinner. Twilight in Beavercreek.

August 29, 2019
A hawk can fly right past you and you won`t hear it, but this one was making as much noise as possible . . . . . . and the bluejays were FREAKING OUT. It was a battle for air superiority in the skies over Oakwood. Am I the last of my kind? JASON ISBELL Will it ever wake up? Nothing will happen later in the day better than this.

August 30, 2019
A sunny day in Dayton town. I just made up a new nautical term: gull-shallow. Armada. Not a waterfowl. Big sis, lil sis.

August 31, 2019
In nature, there are winners and there are losers. It was just a typical day in the Oregon District, and that was so very important for the neighborhood and for me. Tears of happiness -- before she walked down the aisle. Little bird on the prairie. I don`t know who she is, we both prefer solitude.
