It`s probably pointless, but you still have to try to block. Talking strategy. How do you solve a problem like Elizabeth Ording? You can`t solve it, and so you lose. Teams from far away traveled here for my convenience.

Grant Youngblood, famous baritone. The lights are on inside. That`s a good sign. Autumn swirl. At sidewalk level. Come set a spell. Kick yer shoes off.

Last call for bees. I don`t want to play this. Where`s the spring game? Thank goodness birds eat bugs all day, or we`d have too many bugs. The Unicorn Princess entertains at the piano. The stagehand set up the chairs.

A lot has happened since I took their engagement photos in this same park (see February 16, 2014). I`m a great uncle, and a great-uncle. The tricky part is that there are only two letter Bs in a Scrabble game. I don`t think the baby will be walking any time soon. I`m pretty sure I felt something kicking inside his belly.

Every year at this time I think, `If I can just stay in the warm sun, I`ll be okay.` But winter always betrays me. And then someone walked up and asked me, `Are you a professional?` Those conversations never go well. Lies the pathway chill and damp. PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR Beauty and danger go rushing past. Simplicity and spontaneity.

Time to rake the car. `Aww, can`t I sleep just a few more minutes?` Trying to rescue or trying to kill? Autumn in the Oregon District. So much for the blue wave.

Let there be lights. Trees don`t need artificial lights to shine. This building was puking. He rode off on his black horse before I took a picture. I always thought it was a ridiculous name for a prison. Sing Sing, I mean. Sounds more like it should be an opera house or something. HOLLY GOLIGHTLY

I`m not sure the tree is going to fit in my living room. I am the eye in the sky, looking at you. I can read your mind. ERIC WOOLFSON Hey -- shoe`s untied! What`s that crawling up your leg? Do you have change for a dollar? What time is it? Hours later, the tree is almost vertical. Has he been in there the whole time?

Three defenders? Not enough. After seeing them on November 1, I expected Versailles would win the state championship, but oh it wasn`t easy. Independence HS from Cleveland didn`t win one set, but they were a great team and fought hard all the way. I`m glad the state volleyball championship is in Dayton. If I lived in Versailles, I`d be the one person to pronounce it vare-sye.

I didn`t want to go outside, but this bird has no choice. On a cold day like this, there are always berries. I prefer my irises fresh, but frozen is sometimes okay. Hanging around the park. People sometimes ask me where they should go to take pictures of autumn leaves. I tell them: outside.

November 12, 2018
Cold and cloudy in downtown Dayton. Some people actually like fall. What`s wrong with them? Autumn is good for colorful pictures and that`s about it. I`m nothing more than recycled stardust and borrowed energy, born from a rock, spinning in the ether. KESHA And then someone I don`t know walked by and asked if I was taking my five daily photos. Ah, the price of fame.

Tonight I got to spend some quality time with a Model B. A talented pianist with just the right touch can make the instrument sound like what it really is: a harp on its side. You wouldn`t believe how hard it was to take this shot. I was pretty sure the lid would fall down on my hands. And this shot was the hardest of all, but I like it the most.

Broken electronic sign, or message from aliens? Then I saw a ghostly white figure crossing the street. Four shirts in November. How many will I wear in February? Boil over medium heat, photographing occasionally. Brand new. Such possibilities!

November 15, 2018
Sometimes cold weather is just too much to bear. And winter hasn`t even started. If they`re dripping, that means it`s getting warm, right? Rain, rain, go away. I drive slowly and people behind me sound their horns.

November 16, 2018
It`s turned up as high as it goes. At least I get to work indoors. Health insurance is a myth. Let me pencil you in. My keys keep getting snagged in a hole in my coat pocket. Obviously, I need a new coat.

At the construction site. Only very special birds are able to walk on water. Each little bubble contains a self-portrait. Back alley treasure. `Oh, I see that my actions have negative consequences, so I will stop,` said no teenager ever.

November 18, 2018
It kept following me around so I could see it ignoring me. I am still in denial about the change of seasons. The visuals of autumn are fine, but not the temperature. I managed not to fall into the pond. Still making a big show of ignoring me.

November 19, 2018
I don`t use a microwave oven. I don`t drink coffee. I don`t use artificial sweetener. Or natural sweetener. I don`t drink wine. I don`t play trombone. I am defined by what I don`t do.

November 20, 2018
The tree is ready (see November 8 above). The lights will be turned off, so they can be turned back on again. It was a drippy day. To understand other people, walk a mile in their shoes. Hush little baby, don`t you cry. Smoking section.

Convergence. Maybe if public transportation was free, people would ride the bus. NOPE! Wanna pull the wishbone with me? I`m a slow driver. A Zamboni is about my speed. Keeping the county clean.

November 22, 2018
I`m thankful for nice people. Only a few stragglers remain. It glistened as I walked by, calling for my attention. My pumpkin pie didn`t turn out as well as I`d hoped. Ready for the next holiday.

November 23, 2018
Freedom isn`t free. I live in a sweet neighborhood. For elves, they were surprisingly tall. And to think I never believed they existed until today. What do they think of humans and our annual rituals?

November 24, 2018
Right outside my front door, I found my first photo today. Home for the holidays. They advised me that I`d better not pout, better not cry. Going nowhere fast. The sequel to my odd photo from September 10, 2018.

November 25, 2018
What the weather at this time of year feels like to me. When the bugs run scarce, it`s time to eat berries. Nothing but stillness and solitude. I would move into the forest, if it was heated. Autumn is nature`s way of recycling. Tuscan sky.

Charlie says: `Love my Good & Plenty!` Charlie says: `Really rings a bell!` Charlie says: `Love my Good & Plenty! Don`t know any other candy that I love so well!` Made in 1893, it`s the oldest candy brand in the U.S. This is the kind of thing I photograph when it`s snowing. This took 20 times more effort than normal pictures. Despite the dull content of today`s pictures, I have now taken photos for 5,300 days in a row -- so there`s that.

November 28, 2018
It was a coworker`s birthday, but he didn`t come to work. We left him one of his birthday brownies. It`s snowing on the Dayton Art Institute. O tannenbaum. Picture-taking is a lot like life in general: sometimes you wish you could have a second chance and do it better. I probably won`t talk to you in real life, so if you want to hear what I have to say you`ll have to turn on the radio.

November 29, 2018
It`s after 6pm and they`re still working -- the sooner to finish this marathon project (see October 17, 2018). I can`t listen to any of my 45s because I lost that yellow plastic thing that goes in the center. When the warmest time of day is at night. Something about the new neighbors just feels strange. Don we now our gay apparel.

You can carry my voice around everywhere. Lucky you. Come and do my house next. Is it fall? Or is it winter? Or is it spring?
