They forgot the M in my name. The year was 1871: a long-haired hippie freak establishes a United Methodist university in Ohio. Besides the university, there isn`t much in town to see. I know somebody famous (see August 16, 2014). Well, gotta get through exam week first.

One lump or two? Colorful construction. Eagle or dragon? Answer carefully -- your life may depend on it. There`s a special setting on my camera for irony. I`d say today`s photos have a lot of variety.

May 3, 2016
Part of my ongoing series about squirrels with special dietary requirements (see January 31, 2012). Meanwhile I`m wearing my winter coat. Other people have to experience the morning rush hour. Your serve. He blinked on the first three shots.

How do you find worms you can`t see? You LISTEN. This is rarely necessary, especially not around here. During a brief moment when it wasn`t raining. Hoversquirrel. Just dandy.

May 5, 2016
There`s a fungus among us. Looking for Mr. Tumnus. Dinnertime. Future butterfly. And we wrap up the day with a flower. Join us again tomorrow.

May 6, 2016
It was warm and sunny today and that made me hoppy. Home sweet home. Far away. Close up. Looks sketchy to me.

May 7, 2016
Pondering the pond. It looks like a 100% bird day. Mother-to-be. Skimming the ground snacking on bugs. Thank you! Ugly is only skin deep.

May 8, 2016
Prehistoric. The gray catbird doesn`t look like much, but has a pretty song and it also goes `meow` like a cat. The white-throated sparrow sings a song that sounds a bit like `Oh Canada.` Posthistoric. ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?!

May 9, 2016
Just another Monday night in the arts district. Celebrate! My photos of rehearsals are better than performances. Express yourself! Take Five.

Warming up in a loading dock. Everything is ready. Just another Tuesday night in the arts district. This KCC concert was like none I`ve ever seen before. Even the youngest choir members are very disciplined. They didn`t bring their hands down until the director did.

He CAN`T be a senior already (see October 16, 2006). I understand lacrosse up until the national anthem, and then it all becomes confusing. Why I don`t like this sport: if you can`t get the ball, just hit the guy. WHAT? Comin` at ya, keeper! Blue man in a blue truck.

May 12, 2016
Bloom brightly, beautifully, briefly. Rollin`, rollin`, rollin` on the river. Despite appearances, this was taken in the city. You can tell this one was taken in the city. Parenthood.

May 13, 2016
With a lunch like this, dinner won`t be necessary. I should`ve just ordered the kids` meal. A multisensory experience with a flower. Hashtag here. It`s not really French.

May 14, 2016
I was there when Awadagin Pratt autographed this piano (see September 15, 2010). The eternal struggle of pianists: staying warm. The percussionist`s arsenal. DON`T EVEN sit in my seat. Please, no video recording.

May 15, 2016
God save the Queen. Cheerio, old chap. Care for a spot of tea? Bob`s your uncle. I`m chuffed to bits.

May 16, 2016
It`s a great story, of course, but this may be excessive. Maybe she`s reading `To Kill a Mockingbird.` Everybody polka! A little touch up and a little paint. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN When they find my crumpled body in the street, the last picture in my camera will be of a car running a red light.

May 17, 2016
Things I bought today. Things I bought today. Things I bought today. Things I bought today. Things I bought today.

May 18, 2016
Cinderella story. Run, man, run! Two males and one female usually results in conflict. On another topic, here are some ducks. Possibly a leucistic bird (kind of like an albino), or just a Canada goose in its awkward juvenile phase. Generally speaking, outside is better than inside.

May 19, 2016
Do you remember the movie `2001: A Space Odyssey`? Goodbye to the Steinway, for a while. The newest Fronana fanatic (see October 22, 2015). I looked for frogs but didn`t see any. The latest buzz.

May 20, 2016
It`s been very wet here lately. Run, woman, run! (See May 18 above) Crocodile. Ginger/songwriter. Blooms behind bars.

May 21, 2016

This talented dancer sat still long enough for me to take her picture this morning (see November 27, 2015). Potential magazine cover -- maybe `Oakwood Garden.` Beauty`s effect with beauty. WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE I had to get a picture of her in that cute little red car. No extreme makeup, just the beauty she woke up with.

May 23, 2016
Monday morning stimulant. I captured evidence of the transaction. No bees. This should concern you. Our Lady of Wilkinson Street. I`m a niture photographer (see May 10, 2005).

May 24, 2016

May 25, 2016
Yes, fine, and where is this world? The morning commute. Probably not a coincidence. It`s important to realize that photos like this don`t just happen. They`re the result of patience, effort and skill. Today I start my thirteenth year of taking daily photos.

May 26, 2016
I greet the dawn and not a setting sun. PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR Many useless photos are taken before one like this. I like the sleek look of the cedar waxwing. As I take one picture, I`m listening for the next one: `There`s a young robin to the left and it sounds hungry. Cardinal -- only a female. Woodpecker -- way too high.` I got bored after ten minutes of watching this butterfly on a dull shrub, so I persuaded it to move to a flower.

May 27, 2016
I went out early this morning to take pictures. I`ve gotten a shot like this in the past . . . . . . but I`ve never done this before. I got very wet. Some people are alone . . . . . . even in a crowd.

May 28, 2016
My eye is on the sparrow`s eye. This was only the second time I`ve seen an oriole. This turtle could move very fast when swatting flies. There must be an awful lot of worms down there. I stalked this little guy for a long time and it paid off.

May 29, 2016
Fiddling in the park. Please pass the butter. Well, MAKE the butter first. Blue flavor is my favorite. I really think the automobile is on the way out. Orville and Wilhelmina.

May 30, 2016
Memorial Day 2016. Cast thy bread upon the waters. ECCLESIASTES 11:11 Please do not feed the wildlife. METROPARKS POLICY I have a hard time appreciating flowers without petals. It`s a floral explosion! I couldn`t go a day without a bird, of course.
