Today someone said to me, `Winter is my favorite season, so I like snow.` I tried to smile and be polite. Winter brings me down. Fun in the snow. In the cold seat. Put some pants on, for Pete`s sake.

The Girl Scout cookies I wanted. The Girl Scout cookies I got. Mount Everest on Main. The witches are coming. A friendly machine.

March 3, 2015
Scenes from a radio station. A day of patterns. A lot of equipment. I don`t know what any of it does. All the science, I don`t understand. It`s just my job five days a week. ELTON JOHN I work for 4 hours, then this machine works the next 12.

March 4, 2015
In April, I open my bill. In May, I sing night and day. In June, I change my tune. In July, far far I fly. In August, away I must.

These organizations are long gone, but still marked as IN. The Dayton Woman`s Club has been here for 99 years. It was already broken when I got here. Coming back from lunch, I find this. Should I go inside? Each one makes 35 quarts. I like raspberry iced tea.

March 6, 2015
Tonight I photographed the bodily fluids band: Blood Sweat & Tears. Apparently Bo Bice is famous, but I wouldn`t know. Dylan Elise was the best drummer I`ve ever seen. Thanks to backstage access, I can get shots like this. The opening act was called Grover. I`m now a Grover fan.

March 7, 2015
The legacy of Cab Calloway is carried on by his grandson. Thanks to catwalk access, I can get shots like this. Many of the musicians in the Cab Calloway Orchestra seemed too young to know who Cab Calloway was. I stood on a chair backstage to get this shot. Where does he get zoot suits nowadays?

Still asleep. They forgot to set their clocks ahead an hour. We`re on the trailing edge of winter. She said yes! And then his brother got a muddy ball of ice in the face. And all those who see me, and all who believe in me, share in the freedom I feel when I fly. JOHN DENVER

The Great Miami River, on the rocks. Where the sidewalk ends. On the sunny side of the street. Inverted Dunbar. I`m sure he has many stories to tell.

March 10, 2015
Pizza should not have dill pickles on it. It`s foggy inside my creepy parking garage, and water covers the floor. There`s no choice but to walk through it. Humidity is high inside the creepy parking garage. I`ve paid my parking fee for March and have yet to receive a new permit. But otherwise, I LOVE my parking garage. The sun never came out today.

Things are looking up. The river is a little high. You are cordially invited to go back to Canada. Soon . . . soon. Digging up last year`s hidden treasure.

March 12, 2015
I sat in the second row, but nobody was in front of me. What could be better? The Delicate Cycle, choreographed by Hazel Black. In a situation like this, I take pictures without even looking at them. I rely on my camera to do its job, and it does. This show really knocked my socks off. Strike a pose.

March 13, 2015
Staff and volunteers prepare for another pledge drive. Someone has observed that I don`t drink pop. Or soda. My excuse for this photo: it`s raining outside. The advantage of having a cute girl living next door is that the police make frequent patrols to her front porch. One lucky raffle winner will take home some of my photos (baby pictures not included).

March 14, 2015
Pardon me if I don`t offer to shake hands. You say tomato, I say pajamas. Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling. I got a gal in Dallas, I wave at when I go through. I got a gal in Tulsa, that I toot my whistle to. JOHNNY CASH Only six days until spring!

March 15, 2015
Right after I took this picture, a butterfly fluttered by. `Tis the season. Motorcycle season has begun in the Oregon District. LOVE CREATE IMAGINE I hate it when people blink just as I`m taking their picture.

March 16, 2015
While she fills in potholes, her male coworker stands by. It was warm enough for me to take pictures in the morning. `No birds today,` I told myself. Oh well, just this one. Salt glyphs. I`m normally not good with houseplants, but these are fine.

March 17, 2015
Two Irish Catholics on their way to Mass. `Come ye back Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.` Deluged Dayton. Remember the monolith in `2001: A Space Odyssey`? When I`m at work, I sit in a chair. Then I get up and move to another room where I sit in a different chair. It`s tough.

March 18, 2015
No caption necessary. I can`t let a day go by without a bird picture. In the clearing kneels a player, and a pitcher by his trade. Beverage holder. GMC grille.

March 19, 2015
Patterns for their own sake. I think I`ll just hang out here a while. Special delivery. They don`t build them like this anymore. They don`t know how. Reaching for something that isn`t there.

March 20, 2015
Hide-n-seek. Missing a mouth and nose. Nature`s mirror. Making a break for it. Have you made your pledge to Discover Classical yet? Call (937) 222-WDPR or visit www.discoverclassical.org.

March 21, 2015
Purple has class, some say the highest. They stand in awe of purple -- royally, loyally in awe. KEN NORDINE The meeting of the seasons. Spring is here at last. There`s no turning back now. I like the sand which is there. Remnants of autumn past.

March 22, 2015
Happy bird day to you! Happy bird day to you! Happy bird day to you! Happy bird day to you! Happy bird day to you!

March 23, 2015
My Visa card went on a shopping spree in California, without me. No go. Snow go. Realizing that they`re powerless individually, snowflakes decided to join forces. So much for spring.

March 24, 2015
Spring pledge drive continues! I didn`t have time for lunch today, but I took a picture of it. I did have a hasty dinner later. One bad banana will spoil the whole basket. It was the best of tines, it was the worst of tines.

March 25, 2015
What show has an evil witch? Little Red Riding Hood and a hungry wolf? Rapunzel with her long golden hair? Prince Charming and Cinderella? It`s `Into the Woods,` on stage now at Alter High School.

March 26, 2015
The shyness of springtime. Nice hat. Thinking nesting thoughts. Hello world. Tomorrow`s daffodils.

March 27, 2015
First we needed this much. Then we needed this much. And then this much. Later it was this much. And when it was all over, we still needed this much.

March 28, 2015
When will spring really come? At this point a woman came walking down the garden path, saw me, then turned around and walked back. The early signs of spring are often overlooked. This makes me think of somebody I know. Smile!

March 29, 2015
I stopped by to see Wilbur and Orville this afternoon. Woodland Cemetery is a picturesque place. The turtle can`t go out to play, or sell his house or rent it; for when he moves, his house moves too, and nothing can prevent it. Soon afterward, a family arrived with a loaf of bread. Your monumental efforts to be remembered, sir, will fail.

March 30, 2015
My photos are offered in a raffle (see March 13 above). The new downtown library will be so much better, but I`m apprehensive about the long time between now and then. Has anybody seen Joey? The last fruits of the season. What a horrible day it was. It must be YADNOM!

March 31, 2015
March didn`t exactly go out like a lamb, but it was warm. Oh black water, keep on rolling. THE DOOBIE BROTHERS Here`s the church, here`s the steeple, open the doors and trip the burglar alarm. I was being accosted by a cat as I took this picture. A male cardinal at sunset is a good way to end the month.
