Thought I`d send you a little wave. A plastic evergreen seems redundant. Been warm lately? I found this outside, not at a florist. Something`s in there. It rattles when the wind blows. It`s Wednesday, so up the dreaded staircase I go.

The Dunbar books that were on my desk January 27 have been posterized. It`s raining outside, so I shoot this. A coworker had me take a picture of her Reds shrine, so she could put it back together when she got a new desk. Being a dedicated member of the establishment, I go in the front. Did I mention it`s raining?

I wonder if anyone has ever been so desperate for money that they pawned a pond. I had dinner with a celebrity. .yadhtriB yppaH When cake just isn`t enough. One glimpse of a concert honoring Paul Laurence Dunbar.

My class assignment this week is architecture. I shoot lot of that anyway. It was at this point that the security guard told me to leave. I`ve grown accustomed to that face. My teacher suggested we not interpret our assignments too literally.

Architecture comes in color too. This design is by an architect named IM Pei. IM serious. On my windshield: a message from last night. On my sidewalk: a message from long ago. While you watched the Super Bowl.

Like some Andrew Lloyd-Webber nightmare. What time I got up this morning. If only you had a scratch-n-sniff monitor, you could smell the pungent sap from this fallen tree. Since moving into my office last June, this board by my desk has been bulletin-free. No news is good news. Hey kids! Guess the dumb caption I`ll give to this picture.

All of today`s photos were taken inside the old Montgomery County Courthouse in downtown Dayton. Built in the Greek Revival style, it was modeled after a temple that stood on the lower slopes of the Acropolis. The architect, Howard Daniels of Cincinnati, was awarded $200 for his design. Construction on the courthouse began in 1847 and the building was dedicated in 1850. It`s been visited by Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, Garfield, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Clinton, and me.

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I`m half crazy, all for the love of you. It won`t be a stylish marriage. I can`t afford a carriage. But you`ll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

On this date, a century ago, Paul Laurence Dunbar died in his mother`s arms at this house in West Dayton. During his brief life, he produced a dozen volumes of poetry, four novels, many short stories, and much more. One of his famous verses is etched upon the entrance to the Dayton Public Library. His gravestone, underneath a willow tree, is in Woodland Cemetery near his childhood friends the Wright brothers. A century later, Dunbar`s works continue to inspire readers, writers and artists.

Visiting hours at the penitentiary. On the road six hours in order to see a two-hour show. I`m a good uncle. It was some heavy drama full of profound symbolism. Everyone on the stage did a good job . . . . . . but the Bird Girls were the best.

There`s nothing second-rate about the second company of DCDC. There aren`t any men in the troupe . . . . . . but that doesn`t stop them from throwing, catching and lifting each other. They were very energetic, talented and enthusiastic . . . . . . but still not as good as the Bird Girls.

At this point, the man next to me said, `Your daughter looks like she`s having a lot of fun out there.` To meet its critical shortage of personnel, the Army is doing a lot more recruiting in high schools. Teenagers experience a lot of pressure to dress and act just like their peers. She beat out twelve other girls for the coveted sit-there-with-your-arm-on-your-head role. Some of the things I learned from shooting fast basketball action on January 25 came in handy today.

Today`s assignment was to photograph groups or sequences. I didn`t intend to have a pair of hands in this shot . . . . but a pair of hands volunteered anyway. For this one I was just in the right place at the right time. And I pushed the button at the right moment.

Heads I win. Yes, this is right-way up. Never touch the stuff myself. A house by implication. A cat by implication.

February 15, 2006
Today I got my first good look at UD`s new $25 million RecPlex. The color scheme, in case you missed it, is red and blue. I`m not a member -- I just went to look a round . . . . . . and a round. On this job, it`s a good day if you`re bored.

Benzocaine helped me make it though the day. The fastest page-turner east of the Pecos. You never see an alto do that. It`s a soprano thing. Research shows that when one person yawns, the people nearby yawn too. Thanks to the magic of Velcro, hanging photos for my next exhibition will be much easier than last year.

`Ready - One! Two! Three! WE`RE TALL!!` `I don`t THINK so!` `How may I serve you today?` `I OWN you.` Obviously a volleyball veteran.

At 3:00pm the gallery was bare. But little by little it was populated with pictures. This is a laser-guided exhibition. I`m sure this is how they do it at the Louvre. You ARE coming to my photo exhibition between now and March 20, right?

Girl twirl. Briana anairB Studying for the bar. The dreaded fish flop. Boa constickler.

February 20, 2006
Strolling down the avenue. Flying off into the . . . . . . sunset. Unafraid of the guy with the camera. Well, maybe not.

February 21, 2006
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry. Five pictures a day every day since May 25, 2004. Isn`t it supposed to be yellow? Stopped the car, opened the door, leaned out, and got a cleanly focused shot. Mine would say CONSLE8.

February 22, 2006
Awaiting a large crowd at my photo exhibition reception. Awaiting a hungry crowd at my photo exhibition reception. `Look at those fascinating doorknobs.` `Look at those dumb doorknobs.` Child labor.

A little birthday sign is nice. Fifty birthday signs is embarrasing. The glow of stained glass illuminates the background. Colored light abounds. In case you didn`t know where these pictures were taken.

February 24, 2006
In a deeply symbolic act, my music books were put away in a box so I`d have more shelf room for photography stuff. The itsy-bitsy squirrel went up the water spout. Kel Crum - as seen on radio. Not Table 1, but I`m just glad I wasn`t parking cars. She rose to the occasion.

February 25, 2006
This is not a black and white picture. Or-na-men-ta-tion. Min-a-mal-ism I told you it wasn`t microwave safe! No skating today.

February 26, 2006
I`m not exactly sure what this week`s photography class assignment is all about. It has something to do with forcing the camera to shoot in low light. This is called `push processing` but it applies to film, and I shoot with a digital camera. So I just took a bunch of pictures in the dark, hoping to learn something. I suppose I can learn something from this.

Librarians sure can eat a lot. Because of that fact, I promoted my exhibit in a prominent place in the library staff lounge. The promotion must have worked: they had to use ropes to hold back the crowd. `Really, I`m fine. My skin is always cold and clammy.` The first floor seen from the third floor.
