I went to a place and I did a thing. Another place, another thing. We can all use a little help when we`re just starting out. Kids were playing, dogs were barking, spring was springing. Check back in 2036 to see if these batteries still work.

I went to a place and somebody did a thing to me. Enter the puff. I find a reason to smile every day. Nature`s sculpture. Apparently I was part of a lawsuit against an insurance company and this is my cut of a $2.67 billion settlement.

Parenthood is a big responsibility. A cormorant in a big hurry. Debris from somewhere upriver. Souvenir from a goose. Luxury river cruise.

June 4, 2026
Welcome to Smith Garden. If there`s a bug in the flower bed, I`ll find it. It`s like a little wedding. Status report (see May 3 and May 16, 2026). Have you met my friend Lily?

June 5, 2026
Splat cat. Peppy puppy. Not every singer is a performer. This one is. My fellow Americans. Oh look, a new place downtown for me not to go to.

June 6, 2026
Lots of cancellations lately. Reminds me of that other time (see March 11 and April 30, 2020). But fortunately, springtime has not been canceled. Squirrels are going after walnuts early. The laundry got done. And the dishes got washed -- eventually.

June 7, 2026
Dayton Public Radio is moving out of the Metropolitan Arts Center, its home for more than 30 years. Things keep disappearing (see April 22 and 28, 2026). Famous musicians have left the building (see September 13, 2024). I`m leaving this place behind (see July 7, 2014). Even post-it notes become permanent after 12 years.

June 8, 2026
A walnut fell on my neighbor`s car like a rock. I looked up and saw this fleeing suspect (see June 6 above). Along the sidewalk in the Oregon District. There`s never a cooper around when you need one. I stopped at the Trolley Stop. I suppose all of today`s pictures can be captioned `Along the sidewalk in the Oregon District.`

June 9, 2026
Obsolete communication methods. Two radio listeners contacted me today to say they enjoyed the music. I appreciate that. My diary of discomfort. 7:14pm I`ve been using parking meters a lot lately.

June 10, 2026
Discover Classical will soon be on the air in our new studios. I`ll be spending a lot of time here. The musical notes have finally been added (see May 11, 2026). Do you know what this piece is? My office is on the other side of this string quartet. Don`t know what this is, but it looks important.

June 11, 2026
Sometimes breaking up is hard to do, but not always. I`m not sure if these two will make it to our new studio. I don`t remember having many birthday parties at work. Never thought I`d see A Certain Coworker`s office so uncluttered. A whole lotta nuthin.

June 12, 2026
In a quiet garden by myself. What could be better? Correction: I`m not really by myself. The secret of spiderwort. A tiny buzz. Life can be so sweet on the sunny side of the leaf.

June 13, 2026
My adolescence is closely tied to a green Nova. The side door was open, so I expected to see skydivers. The Groove Essentials are back (see October 24, 2025). It was another great night for an outdoor concert. The musicians and their songs are all about positivity.

June 14, 2026
The morning buzz. Always ready to welcome guests. Come to the garden just after the rain ends. I also saw a goldfinch, but it was too fast for me. Orange you glad it`s springtime?

June 15, 2026
Desperate times mean desperate pictures.

June 16, 2026
Some desperation carried over from yesterday. But after the zucchini I took a nice walk outside. The radio only plays Chicago and the Doobie Brothers. Still vacant after all these years. Lily of the alley.

June 17, 2026
A baby robin tried to fly, but didn`t get very far. This squirrel took a prolonged interest in the robin. A healthy appetite is a good sign, right? Much of my life is spent wearing headphones. How I used to keep track of my retirement savings.

June 18, 2026
More bug portraits at Smith Garden (see June 12 above). There are bugs in this shot, but they`re hard to see. I could tell from its body language that it became nervous as I got closer. Zooming over the pond. Mommy took pictures of her with a `Big Sister` shirt and an ultrasound image. You can figure out the rest.

June 19, 2026
Welcome to the Oregon District. Don`t park here. Descent into the coneflower. Juneteenth in the Oregon District. A perfect portrayal of my unusual neighborhood. Hoops on Fifth Street. It did not go in.

June 20, 2026
Cinderella, where are you? The chances of me ever doing this: negative zero. She`s got her ducks in a row. White on white. Waterfowl approach me hungrily, but are disappointed.

June 21, 2026
Maybe in 2030 I`ll smile (see June 21, 2022). At this time of year, I don`t park in front of my house (see June 8 above). Someone was playing saxophone in the gazebo nearby. On a sunny Sunday. A symbol of concern (see May 23, 2026).

June 22, 2026
Pretty impressive considering the circumstances.

June 23, 2026
A compromise has been reached between man and nature. Progress report (see June 1 above). Busy as a you-know-what. Oh look, a new business for me not to go to. Look up at the sky and feel reassured.

June 24, 2026
I received a thank-you card from myself (see May 14, 2026). My big adventure: walkng down the stairs. My big adventure: going out the door. My big adventure: walking to my car. My big adventure: going back inside.

June 25, 2026
A delicate balancing act. It`s been outdoors almost two years (see July 25, 2024). I figured out why this place is called Hole in the Wall. Clever! The electric lamps on the wall at Thai 9 are being incorporated into this new mural. By the time you see this, the flower might be gone.

June 26, 2026
Cinerama: you have to see it at actual size. Wow, I won a free car just by peeling this back. I`m sure nobody else did. How hungry are you? I know the feeling. Apres la pluie.

June 27, 2026
Happy birthday, Paul Laurence Dunbar! Paul looks pretty good for being 154 years old. Paul`s mother Matilda greeted visitors in the kitchen. And there were many visitors to pay tribute to PLD. Paul has a pretty nice ride.

June 28, 2026
My new neighbors. Interspecies rivalry beneath the bird feeder. It`s gone. The curse didn`t work (see April 20, 2026). I assume this mural is finished (see June 25 above). Good job Tiffany Clark (see November 14, 2020)! Don`t let the lack of a roof dissuade you (see May 9, 2026).

June 29, 2026
Chipmunks are cute and harmless -- unless you`re a worm. Photography is all about perception. Morning at Smith Garden. There is always a skipper on this plant at Smith Garden. Crouching down to take this photo was fairly easy, but standing up was the hard part.

June 30, 2026
Did you see that movie where everybody disappeared? And all they left behind was a beach ball. In my new office, I need scissors to open this box, but my scissors are inside the box. Oh well, it`s a start. I need to get organizized. A reminder of what the U. S. Constitution says.
