My weekly grocery shopping bill is at an all-time high. Wilbur and Orville on ice. Taken from inside the car with the heater running. Seasons come and go, but he stays right here. How I feel about winter.

Plenty of tables available on the sidewalk cafe. Macintosh is a foreign landscape to me. Normally you`re not allowed to take pictures in a theatre, but who wants to be normal? Jared Mola portrayed 27 different characters in the play `Varian` written by Michael London. Playwright Michael London, actor Jared Mola and director Annie Pesch at a reading of `Varian.`

Today I interviewed three ballerinas and learned a lot. I`ve been taking a lot of black and white pictures lately. Impervious to cold. Has anyone seen my car? I had more snow photos, or this shot of an empty studio. I think we`re all tired of snow, so this picture is better.

She`s back, for an unprecedented third photo shoot in six weeks (see December 28, 2025, and January 5, 2026). On a weekday morning, we had the DAI to ourselves, so nobody wondered about the girl sitting on the floor. I deliberately tried to recreate a previous photo taken at the Dayton Art Institute (see April 2, 2010). Zella is an actress, model and influencer and can always use more pictures. Youth and cuteness.

People who sit at courtside get pictures like this. They also get hit by the ball sometimes. The home team was on fire. Halftime! Breezie Williams scored a career-high 28 points and was 5 for 5 from three-point range. There was a lot to cheer about at the Nutter Center.

If these weren`t here, then I wouldn`t eat them, but they were so I did. My footwear for the past couple of weeks. Some people may be proud of all their credit cards, but for me it`s library cards. Today I was informed about a data breach that occurred in 2024. The letter described itself as `time sensitive.` Today was a struggle, but raspberry tea and pizza help.

An illustration from `Snedronningen,` a fairy tale about permanent winter by Hans Christian Andersen. Yes it does, but not enough. Potato chips, how my mouth just drips. Crunch, crunch, I don Porch furniture is useful for only part of the year. Snowplows don`t stop.

February 8, 2026
If there was something else to take pictures of, I would. At least some people are having fun with it. I`d rather lose both mittens rather than just one. Birds of a feather commiserate together. There were no kids on the playground.

February 9, 2026
`Neath the Schuster Center. DAYTON is still under snow (see September 9, 2025). The snow swan is a rare species. Dogs seem to like snow more than I do. They know it

February 10, 2026
Snow removal photos carried over for a third hit week! Not an encouraging sign outside a hotel. Status update (see January 29, 2026). My annual sighting of a coot (see March 5, 2025). He saw my camera and went into performance mode.

February 11, 2026
Reflections on my parking garage. It was warmer today, so I ventured outside for photos. I stayed in the sun as much as possible. I kept an eye out for falling ice. At the downtown post office.

February 12, 2026
Not yet barefoot weather. Where am I supposed to get my car serviced now? (See February 27, 2024). If you look up, you won`t see the snow anymore. Streetside justice. Stupidity in my garage has reached an all-time high (see July 10, 2024) and now my car smells like smoke.

February 13, 2026
Sunny but cold. It hasn`t turned green yet (see March 5, 2025). Not yet swimming weather. Impervious. Yes, it feels that way sometimes.

February 14, 2026
Happy Valentine`s Day! Love`s Greeting by Edward Elgar. One half of a two-sister musical duo. True love = freshly baked pie. Progress is being made on my new workplace (see January 8, 2026).

The snow is melting and I photographed color guard today. Life is getting better all the time. I drove minutes to get here, but her team drove hours. Color guard shows often have layers of meaning. This one was about geology -- and human resilience. And the theme of this show was ice cream. That`s all. I take pictures of all sorts of things, but my color guard photos get the greatest response from the public.

Off to a good start. I call this making sumthin outta nuthin. I saw a cardinal and possibly a bald eagle today, but you get a penguin in a silly hat. Good approach: don`t even mention winter. A last chance photo taken in the parking lot.

February 17, 2026
The ice and snow are finally starting to melt. A quarter of a second from my Tuesday. Low and slow. Downtown Dayton is one big puddle. Coming or going? Hopefully going.

February 18, 2026
Probably not the same geese as yesterday. `Don`t hate me because I`m beautiful.` Other people`s photo shoots. I was grateful for the sun. This building is for sale, in case you`re interested.

February 19, 2026
Lots of people get to see the Loft Theatre stage . . . . . . but I was able to take a backstage tour of The Loft. I will see these costumes in `Hay Fever,` the next production of the Human Race Theatre Company . . . . . . but first the costumes have to be made. This guy was also hanging around backstage.

February 20, 2026
The morning began with smashed glasses and blood. This is my second Band-Aid today. The first was bigger. I had an idea . . . . . . so I turned the idea into reality. I`m participating in another GiveCamp (see October 13, 2023). There will be little sleep this weekend.

February 21, 2026
Wildlife in the Oregon District. A late night walk on Fifth Street. Window shopping. Maybe this car has been in this spot since there was a big pile of snow by the curb. Oh well, here`s a ticket. GiveCamp continues today and tomorrow. I`ll sleep later.

This team of talented programmers spent all weekend working (for free) on Discover Classical`s Web site. My contribution was limited to writing things on the whiteboard. The team was rewarded with DPR sweatshirts. Many hours of work went into creating this new button. Meanwhile, there has been another data breach (see February 6 above).

February 23, 2026
It`s the little things that help me get through the day. Everywhere I look, I see my photos. Have you met my friend Philip? A Degas sculpture on North Main Street. The city has again taken notice of my rotting garage (see January 5, 2023). Where will I park tomorrow?

February 24, 2026
I liked it better with smiley faces (see May 11, 2024). A beauty shop and bookstore also closed due to safety violations in my ex-garage (see February 23 above). Today I paid for parking in three places: my old garage, a garage I`ll start using tomorrow, and a few bucks here. I`m moving up in the world. A scene from a different parking garage.

February 25, 2026
This awesome photo was taken with my [relatively] inexpensive camera and lens. Wipe your feet! There`s a new art gallery across the street. Lots of people ask me to take their photo, but very few stop to find out where it will be posted online. My car in its [relatively] safe new garage.

February 26, 2026
Random act of kindness in the crosswalk. Typical act of selfishness in the crosswalk. Things got a little too spicy at the Indian restaurant. Still messing with the Dayton peace sign (see December 22, 2025). I have a longer walk to get to my car after work now, but the weather is getting warmer.

February 27, 2026
Renovations are underway at the Dunbar House. I`ve been through the Dunbar House countless times, but today I noticed there was wallpaper inside the closets. A balm to bathe the wounded heart where sorrow`s hand hath lain. PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR The horsehair toothbrush in PLD`s bathroom. Dunbar was a reader as well as a writer.

February 28, 2026
There`s been lots of progress since February 16 above. A honeybee appeared right on cue. I didn`t expect to take pictures of roses today. Other people`s photo shoots. They`re thinking about starting a family.
