Kolorful Kacky. Bitten by a poisonous spider, she must play a fiendishly difficult tarantella to save her life. Decent pictures, I suppose, but it`s a bad sign when so many are taken at night. A dedicated photographer would make his hay while the sun shines, instead of waiting until dark. What`s worse, all of these were taken from inside the car.

the lady is a wonder daughter of the thunder smashing cages ... with the voice of ages. JAMES BALDWIN He pours into the curved and silver horn his old unhappy longing for a home. EDWARD BRATHWAITE Your sound is faultless & pure round holy almost profound. Your sound is your sound true. GREGORY CORSO With his ebony hands on each ivory key he made that poor piano moan with melody. LANGSTON HUGHES Drum on your drums ... sob on the long cool winding saxophones. Go to it, jazzmen. CARL SANDBURG

The leaf blower`s broken. Do not MESS with Donna Elvira. `Everyone is jealous of my hat.` An unusually devout Puccini heroine. `And THEN she had the nerve to criticize my makeup! Can you believe it?`

ICU. First Christmas tree sighting of the season. Have I mentioned where I work? Mark how one string, sweet husband to another strikes each in each by mutual ordering . . . Resembling sire and child and happy mother who all in one, one pleasing note do sing. WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

Just before he bumped his head and decided that the slide wasn`t that much fun after all. Birthday party debris. The shirt says University of Dayton Flyers. Better start saving now. Put the candle back! DR. FREDERICK FRANKENSTEIN Fueling up for more trips down the slide.

This employment benefit doesn`t appear on any list from Human Resources: the ability to attend lunchtime recitals. Dusk came at about 5:00pm. Strangely reminiscent of July 12, 2004. Spades take up leaves No better than spoons, And bags full of leaves Are light as balloons. ROBERT FROST Fan-light light.

A bold new direction in architectural photography? No, it was raining outside and I was tired. And without moving my position from the previous shot, I got this. Vaguely similar to August 3, 2004, but these drops are on my side-view mirror. I still haven`t moved from my original position. Can you tell I just don`t care? Okay, here I had to move the car, but I remained comfortably in the driver`s seat.

Late bloomer. This can be yours for $10,000 [seriously]. The same sculpture as October 14, 2006? Leaf soup. All cats belong behind bars. Latest in my series of VW abstracts.

I`m half the man I used to be. The sky`s not the limit. Often seen before, but not from this vantage point. I doubt the new roof will help protect the web. Trapped by approaching winter.

When you`re alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go downtown . . . When you`ve got worries, all the noise and the hurry seems to help, I know, downtown . . . Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city, linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty . . . How can you lose? The lights are much brighter there, you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go . . . Downtown, things`ll be great when you`re downtown, no finer place for sure, downtown, everything`s waiting for you.

The Friday night announcer had too much free time. It`s tough being a media celebrity. I`ve been on the air five mornings in a row. Don`t do it. She`s not worth it. If the walls could talk, then maybe the windows could sing. Hope, Scorn, Terror.

November 12, 2006
In contrast to the Angry Bluebird you may have seen elsewhere on the Web, here we have the Happy Squirrel. Dishwashing day. I REALLY need to start shopping. Just big red leaves. Just little red leaves.

November 13, 2006
Wait, don`t leaf! ART-ificial waterfall. Showoff! Exercising my right. Hands down the dumbest picture I`ve ever taken.

November 14, 2006
Which way is up? I drove downtown at lunch to get shots like this? Sunset in the Oregon District. It was inevitable. No one appreciates real art anymore.

November 15, 2006
All of today`s pictures are reflections in my car windshield. If you`d taken five pictures a day for 904 days, you might resort to ideas like this too. This is the best one. This is the worst one. Don`t forget the milk.

November 16, 2006
Sometimes the first shot of the day sets a high standard for the rest. Hanging around the bike rack. Within hours it had been painted over. .sknaht oN It`s nice to see people express their excitement about art.

Dinner with Kacky in New Delhi -- or, a new deli. Did I mention it was dinner and dancing? Which direction did that noise come from? Those tap-dancers really let their hair down. Her moment in the spotlight.

November 18, 2006
The latest in my ongoing series of Italian Girls in Trees (see October 29, 2006). Normally outdoor photographers are in hibernation by this time of year, but today was an exception. Most of these pictures are good, but this one is grate. I think we were both shivering at this point. The photographer`s job: to say, `Here, stand next to this.`

November 19, 2006
This too is dance: Irish. This too is dance: tap. This too is dance: ballet. This too is dance: jazz. This too is dance: modern.

November 20, 2006
Should I be concerned these are outside my building? Guess what building I was in today. Guess what country I was in today. Good, yes, but something`s missing. Don`t forget the cheese.

November 21, 2006
`The sun`s in my eyes!` `I`M THANKFUL FOR THE PERSON WHO FEEDS THE CAT. THANK YOU AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING.` Peace like a river attendeth my way. One of Dayton`s numerous medieval cathedrals. The first day of the season I took pictures wearing gloves.

At 10:30am, this young lady contacted me and asked me to take her picture at 2:30pm. Guess what I answered. She had a distance to drive, so 2:30 became 3:00. We spent most of our time together chasing the sun. Just when we found some sun, shadows would start to creep in. But fortunately it wasn`t very cold outside. I didn`t know what I might shoot today, but I unexpectedly ended up with some pretty nice portraits. And then -- just that quickly -- this person whom I don`t know disappeared.

It`s Thanksgiving! Or . . . . . . is it another holiday? I have much to be thankful for every day of the year. I got the idea for this picture when I took off my glasses temporarily. But then when I put my glasses back on, I could see sharp (C-sharp . . . get it?).

November 24, 2006
I`m glad I wasn`t on the sidewalk when those windows blew out. Winter wonderland. Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow. Off to the mall for after-Thanksgiving sales. Today was warm, but rest assured: the iceman cometh.

November 25, 2006
Eavesdropper. The last undeveloped land in Bellbrook, Ohio. A colorful sunset makes everything look picturesque. Just a backstop. Just a tree.

November 26, 2006
Unusually warm weather brought out an unusually large crowd for the annual Children`s Parade. It SOUNDS easy, but I`m sure it`s hard to walk and wave for a mile. At least some people got to wave while lying down. `Gimme five!` Clown got your tongue?

November 27, 2006
One of my many skills is designing displays. Today I was told that my lunch was `like what a bonobo would eat.` Light: a little dab`ll do ya. I was never popular in high school because I was in the Ugly Group. I paid $458 for these wires, so you`re going to LOOK at them, and you`re going to LIKE them.

November 28, 2006
Pro patria. I`ll give you a hint: it was wet. Tiffany glass times three. What one does while waiting for the light to change. Always good advice.

November 29, 2006
When the wind blew, I was drizzled upon by dead pine needles. A metaphor for my communication strategy. A secular cathedral built in honor of law. Won`t you be my neighbor? Oh! Maybe that`s what was wrong last time.

November 30, 2006
Somehow he`s moved since November 6. All you need is love. Next stop: balcony. In the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. These are for a party tomorrow, so it`s good the box is sealed tonight.
