Today WDPR began broadcasting from a new studio. Ludwig has moved from Main Street to Second Street. My new office has a floor to ceiling window (see June 30, 2026) which will help me tell the relative humidity. I`m able to see all sorts of things from my desk. She put the flower in her hair.

A look inside the new Charles D. Berry broadcast studio. The clock from the old studio didn`t survive one day (see March 31, 2025). The radio station is still a construction zone, but a contractor gave me a pretzel still hot from the bakery. The only interesting thing outside the window today was a bird fight. When it`s in the 90s outside, I try to stay inside.

Wegerzyn Garden upside down in a water droplet. I treat them with respect and they don`t bother me. On a hot day like this, it`s important to stay hydrated. There is always a chipmunk on this wall at Wegerzyn. I came home with many good photos and mosquito bites.

My fellow Americans. Ready for battle. The Mayor of Dayton led our neighborhood parade. I assume its tail was wagging with excitement. Are they the same dogs every year (see July 4, 2024)?

July 5, 2026
The creative neighbor. The annoying neighbor. Treat Averyone Kindly. Another shooting, another surveillance tower (see September 22, 2023). Two bees or not two bees, that is the question.

July 6, 2026
If I park in the right place, I can watch my car through my giant office window. I failed to park in the right place today, however. My new office is on the second floor, and I AM NOT going to take the elevator all the time. Walnut-nibbling squirrels make a mess of everything (see June 8, 2026). Pizza is still good on the second day.

July 7, 2026
Someone else`s car in the parking garage. Wanna buy a church? He`s worried about who the next owner might be. Discover Classical is still on the Jumbotron. Pastel evening.

July 8, 2026
Twenty years ago, I would have sat down and played. Today it`s just a prop for a photo. My workplace is still a construction zone. I`m thinkin thots about getting off the couch. The season is fluttering by. Pick yourself up, towel yourself off, and start all over again.

July 9, 2026
I was down on the farm this morning. There wasn`t much of a breeze. Have you met my friend Billy? Inside the barn: barn swallows. And in the barnyard: barnyard animals.

July 10, 2026
I guess it`s nacho lucky day. An underground fire here caused much disruption today. My final visit? I`ll need to turn in my key eventually. There`s a lot of history in this radio studio. But there`s now a newer and much better studio.

July 11, 2026
More goats (see July 9 above). More barn swallows, this time with muddy twigs to build a nest. There was a rooster crowing nearby as I took this. The finest in poultry portraiture. We occupy the same world, but very different realities.

July 12, 2026
There is always a chipmunk in this spot at Smith Garden. There is often a rabbit in this spot at Smith Garden. There is always a skipper on this plant at Smith Garden. There is never a construction project in the pond at Smith Garden. Sunday morning solitude.

July 13, 2026
Birds love chicken. Four monitors, three keyboards and mice, one analog clock (see July 2 above). A small gathering of bees in my backyard. A larger gathering of bees on a neighbor`s house. Who

I`m not sure how trash pickup works in our new location. Butterfleye. Cool off after a hot day. This mural was uncovered during a building renovation. Nature always wins.

July 15, 2026
Nature photography through the car windshield. I regret that communication with important people happens this way. My wallet from a previous century has finally retired. Don`t touch the spindle! Destined for Goodwill.

July 16, 2026
About once a summer I get up early to take this shot (see June 23, 2025). Together, forever, for now. Orville Wright had his head in the clouds. I`ve lost track of how long it`s been since I ran. High above the river, an osprey hunts for fish (see August 20, 2025).

July 17, 2026
Don`t breathe the air. We didn`t get rid of the CDs (see April 14, 2026). Storm clouds seen from my office. I never had windows before, so I never knew when it was raining. I may get wet, but rain will clean the smoke from the air. Last week was a struggle. This week was a blessing.

July 18, 2026
It`s not about who wins or loses, but blue sure looks better than red or yellow. Yesterday`s rain made today`s competition better. They make a great team. These horses had the day off. And now for something completely different.

July 19, 2026
Sunrise at Goose Lake. Along the coastline. Bugs in tandem. Many photos were taken of this bee. Here`s a good one. This hummingbird nest was very tiny.

July 20, 2026
I work in a new building now, so I see different things, like Gateway (circa 1977) by sculptor Joseph Konzal. Man with orange things, first in a series. Man with orange things, last in a series. Will new crosswalks make it safer to cross the street? Squirrels drive me nuts at this time of year.

July 21, 2026
That`s about 100mph more than what I need. Everyone knows it`s windy. It took a few weeks, but I found the best parking space. I won`t be sorry to see this garage get demolished. I`m very creative with a Sharpie (see March 26, 2026).

July 22, 2026
I finally found the back door of my new building. Easy like Sunday morning on a Wednesday afternoon. Push the button all you want -- we aren`t there anymore. [And my second round reflection shot of the day] I hope he`s having fun. I`ll stay on dry land. For the first time since May, I was able to roam around with my camera at lunch -- and good things happened.

In 1890, Ohio State University played its first football game, beating Ohio Wesleyan 20 - 14. They say the lights are bright on East Fifth Street. I`m actually taller than a sunflower. A busy bee. Not a busy bee.

July 24, 2026
Miniature malevolence. Rhythms of Fifth Street. From bestseller to giveaway. Probably not the same bee as yesterday. In the empty playground.

July 25, 2026
Another camera got to him first (see July 25, 2014; July 28, 2017). Same musician, same shirt (see July 29, 2021). Not every dancer remembers to smile. She has red hair and plays in an Irish band. All is well with the world. He performed with amazing grace.

July 26, 2026
This time there are two tiny beaks (see July 19 above). Easy like Sunday morning. LIONEL RICHIE Instinct told this chipmunk to hold still and hope I didn`t see it, allowing me to get close and take lots of pictures. They chirp cheerfully all around me, but rarely sit still. Spiders gotta eat.

July 27, 2026
I was slow to figure out that there`s a piano on the wall. From my window into another window. I had to resort to my emergency backup umbrella. I didn`t have time for lunch, so dinner came early. And what did YOU watch tonight?

July 28, 2026
I had hoped for more progress (see July 21 above). I often identify with Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Dogs of RiverScape, continued (see July 22 above). My thirst adventure is quenched by getting out of bed. You should come to my photography workshop at RiverScape on Saturday August 8 at 10am.

July 29, 2026
At work, I watched a mourning dove at work on a nest. I`ll be back on October 2. I post Idiot Driver of the Day photos (see April 25, 2024), so in fairness here`s an Idiot Pedestrian of the Day. Odor control -- what are you trying to tell me? My porch is now a drive-thru for squirrels.

July 30, 2026
The pond at Smith Garden has been rebuilt (see July 12 above). I think that`s a gurgle of approval for the new pond. This was taken on a Tuesday at 6:59pm, indicating that I have totally lost control of my schedule. Other people`s photo shoots. The day smiles down on me, and I smile back.

July 31, 2026
My name appeared outside my office today. I guess I can unpack my boxes. More exercises outside my office (see July 1 above). These drawings might end up tattooed on someone. I should probably be down there mingling. He was last seen here dancing (see January 22, 2026).
